Portrait of a Louisiana Heron, also known as a Tricolored Heron, in the marsh land along the shore of the Kissimmee Lake at the Kissimmee State Park 13 miles east of the town of Lake Wales in central Florida.

Photography has been an avocation my entire life. It became a vocation 25 plus years ago after selling my general insurance agency and retiring from the insurance industry. Both photographic and computer skills have been self taught. Specializing in nature, wildlife, landscape, marine, and historical subjects, most of my images are of the natural world. People and material objects appear only when they serve to provide additional meaning.
