About Phil Jensen
Photography has been an avocation my entire life. It became a vocation 20 plus years ago after selling my general insurance agency and retiring from the insurance industry. Both photographic and computer skills have been self taught.
Specializing in nature, wildlife, landscape, marine, and historical subjects, most of my images are of the natural world. People and material objects appear only when they serve to provide additional meaning. Images are not intended to be documentary but are "Fine Art" made for the viewer to find personal meaning, to bring back memories, and/or to create dreams.
I have done work for the U.S. Department of Interior/National Park Service and for several State Parks, as well as real estate developers, design
studios, artists, retail stores, interior designers, and non-profit organizations. I have had my images published in numerous advertisements and
feature articles in newspapers and magazines. I have published two coffee table books, "Natural Florida" and "Western North Carolina and The
Smoky Mountains", and have had "one man exhibitions" in galleries, theaters, and restaurants in Florida, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
My numbered and signed "Limited Edition Prints" are in private and commercial art collections throughout the United States, Canada, England,
and Europe. My images have won many awards in Juried shows and exhibitions from "Honorable Mention" to "Best of Show". They have also
been published in "Photographer's Forum" magazine "Best of Photography Annual" for the past eight years.
I live with my wife, Lynne, and have my studio in Venice, Florida. All my images are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced or copied in any manner without permission.
